WhatsApp for Android is reportedly getting ready to introduce a new feature. This feature will include an in-built AI chatbot called Meta AI. It will allow users to edit images and respond to messages. According to WhatsApp Beta Info, this feature is still in development and not yet available to beta program users.
Meta AI will be powered by Meta’s latest language model, LLaMA 3. It will also offer privacy controls to protect images. However, the release date for these features has not been announced yet.
In WhatsApp Beta version 2.24.14.20 for Android, this new capability was noticed. Currently, the AI chatbot can only respond to text messages. With the new feature, users can post a picture and ask questions about it using AI.
This functionality is similar to what is already available on platforms like Gemini AI and ChatGPT. Another key feature will allow Meta AI to edit images. While the details of its editing capabilities are not fully known, it is expected to support basic edits like improving brightness, cropping, and removing background objects.
This new feature on Google Pixel smartphones can change backgrounds and add effects, similar to the Magic Editor. The report also says that Meta AI will test photos, including facial features, and users will have control over their images and can delete them anytime.
However, it’s not clear if deleting a photo will remove it from Meta AI’s database. There is no release date for this update yet. Stay connected with our website for future updates from WhatsApp.
